Why you need to turn off the car engine
Running the engine while refueling can cause problems with the vehicle. As you know, there is sediment at the bottom of the gas tank that rises when filling fuel. A running engine can capture some of this dirt, which settles on the protective filter.
It is important that a faulty ignition system can spark the case. Therefore, if you refuel with the engine running, there is a great risk that a spark from the exhaust pipe or a discharge of static electricity will start a fire.
In addition to turning off the vehicle, there are some other safety precautions to consider when refueling.
Don’t use your mobile phone!
When stopping at a gas station, it is often tempting to use your smartphone to make a call or reply to a message. This is a very bad habit.
It is not recommended to use mobile phones and other electronic devices when you are at a gas station to refuel your car.
Do not smoke!
It is strictly forbidden to smoke, use a match or light a lighter when filling the fuel tank at gas stations. Remember that gasoline is flammable and may cause a fire.
You need to put out your cigarette before you go to the gas station.
