It is economically unprofitable to have a car in Ukraine – research

Ukraine was included in the list of countries where it is economically unprofitable to have a car

A Ukrainian needs to spend 413% of the average annual salary to buy and operate a car.

Ukraine took sixth place in the ranking of countries where it is economically unprofitable to have a car. Rating published the ScrapCarComparison edition on Friday 13 August.

As part of the study, the cost of new machines, as well as the average cost of operating them, were compared with the average annual salary of citizens. The ranking includes 40 countries for which the necessary official data were available.

As it turned out, a Ukrainian needs to spend 413% of the average annual salary in order to purchase and operate a car.

At the same time, the highest costs for buying and maintaining a car are in Turkey – 652% of the average annual salary, while the lowest are in Australia (49%). In the USA this figure is 54.8%, Denmark – 60%, Canada – 64%, Sweden – 75%.

We will remind that in Ukraine in July was imported record number of used cars… Over the past 2.5 years, this is a record number of imported used cars. The most popular brands are Volkswagen and Ford.
