President Andrés Manuel López Obrador asked the women who signed a letter to demand a security strategy with a gender perspective to stop femicides, also to speak out about the violence that occurred in yesterday’s march.

In the morning conference, the president said that being a signatory does not mean also attending the Zócalo, and assured that it is very convenient to just support one document “How are famous and fifís”.

“It is like the intellectual actors, open letter, I would like you to speak about this, if you consider it appropriate. Of course, being the undersigned does not mean being in the Zócalo is very comfortable … as they are famous and fifís ”, he criticized.

The chief executive defended that his political project, raised before he became president, has defended women more than other movements, and assured that there is evidence of this. In addition, he mentioned that he travels all over the country and talks with men and women “and there is no such attitude.”

“What they are looking for is that we act in an authoritarian way, it is not the other way around. For example, men, when we were in the fight long before we were opponents, when we were studying, we said ‘he who does not jump is charro’, I have heard ‘he who does not jump is male’, what did the men do there? Not seeing, not observing, but kicking and throwing stones ”, he remarked.

According to López Obrador, there were infiltrators during the mobilization and no one spoke about it, including organizations such as the Marabunta Brigade. who attend all marches to avoid violence, but accused that, on the contrary, “there is a lot of falsehood, a lot of hypocrisy.”
