Aashirvad Cinemas is a production house that has produced many successful films in Malayalam. Aashirvad Cinemas, which started with the Malayalam blockbuster Narasimham, has also given Malayalam films like Rasathantram, Drishyam and Spirit.
Aashirvad also produced the film Odiyan, which released with the biggest hype ever seen in Malayalam cinema. Since its announcement, Odiyan was a highly anticipated film as a film based on the theme of Odiyan, which Malayalam cinema has never attempted before.
Mohanlal’s makeover to watch the film surprised Malayalees. But the danger of the film was too much expectation. The film failed at the box office.
Anthony Perumbavoor, owner of Ashirvad Cinemas, says that not all films can be made blockbusters. Antony says if he could, he would have made all the films and he can’t tell what the audience will think. Anthony Mathruthumi told Star and Style Magazine that Odiyan is a successful film in terms of theatrical collections.
“Not every film can be a successful film. If someone could do that, I would do all his films. We cannot imagine what the audience expects from each film. We got everything we expected from Odia. Odiyan was a true film in terms of theatrical collections,’ says Anthony Perumbavoor.
Meanwhile, the shooting of Emburaan, which is being produced by Ashirvad Cinemas and is going to be the most expensive film in Malayalam, is going on. The second part of the super hit movie Lucifer released in 2019 is directed by Prithviraj himself. The film will release next year.
