Until they are aware of their strength, they will not rebel, and until after they have revealed themselves, they will not be aware.
That’s the problem.
George Orwell
The actions perpetrated by the Corrupt Pact and its servile operators, read Consuelo Porras, Rafael Curruchiche and Judge Freddy Orellana, who intend to suspend the Semilla party with illegal tricks, is nothing more than the spurious action that breaks the constitutional order and intends to establish a coup; Of course, behind these disastrous characters are all those who have been economically favored during the last governments, brought together in that criminal network.
It was to be expected that, fearing losing control of the country, a plan would be hatched to prevent Bernardo Arévalo from competing in the second round of elections on August 20. With a whole series of insane, perverse and despicable actions, worthy of organized crime, they tried to prevent the election of the country’s president from taking place, which is unacceptable for a society that aspires to respect the minimum standards of decency and rectitude, that yearns for better living conditions.
Little by little, Guatemalans are waking up and, for those who are tired of the failed State that is Guatemala, it is time for the will and sovereignty of the people to be respected, it is now or never, since the country deserves a substantial change towards democracy and the signs of that awakening are beginning to be present in the squares.
It is clear that a country that is co-opted by the mafias, as is the case of Guatemala, where those who have control of justice, that is, the Supreme Court of Justice, the Constitutional Court, as well as the Supreme Electoral Tribunal, who with their rulings have shown which side they are on, nothing good can be expected, therefore, the legally fair margin of action is very poor for Guatemalans.
And, despite the well-founded questioning that the Supreme Electoral Tribunal and that of its magistrates have deserved, in the current institutional crisis, which the hosts of Consuelo Porras and Rafael Curruchiche caused, have maintained the attitude of not preventing the holding of the second electoral round, on August 20; respecting the will of Guatemalans embodied in the polls on June 25. Officially, the UNE and Semilla candidates will contest the country’s presidency, despite the criminalization that is intended to be foisted on Bernardo Arévalo’s party.
Undoubtedly, the result obtained in the first round was quite a surprise for the corrupt, where Arévalo, was positioned in second place. They did not count on the possibility that he would reach a second round; since the plan was for the candidate of the official party, VAMOS, and the candidate of the National Unity of Hope, to be the ones who faced each other, since, with any option, they would ensure that the conditions of the country would continue, remain the same, although the traditional negative vote against Sandra Torres would make it possible for candidate Manuel Conde Orellana to become president.
Things did not turn out as they had planned, so they had to resort, in the first instance, to pointing out that there was fraud since Arévalo did not appear in the first places of the surveys published, as if these determined who should be the president of a country. The review was carried out and the results did not change, so they resorted to a desperate measure, trying to criminalize the Seed Movement.
The paradoxical thing about the case is that the signs of fear, shown by the Corrupt Pact, through the aberrational, delusional and unaccepted actions perpetrated in recent days, are motivating the Guatemalan population to act against the Corrupt Pact and, under the slogan of of We are not afraidOnce again they have been present in the squares, in the streets, in the neighborhoods, because fed up with so much political misery, they trust that another Guatemala is possible.
The power of a nation is in the people, in their sovereignty, and this is being understood by young people, who are gradually realizing how important and vital their presence and involvement in state affairs is. More and more are joining, they are participating, which is good, since the future belongs to them, it is theirs, because they deserve a better country where corruption and impunity begin to end and a better society is built, in which justice prevails for the common good.
The conservatives, who identify themselves in this way, vociferate through all the media, the communist threat that looms for the country if the candidate of the Seed Movement were to win in the elections and in collusion with some evangelical pastors, questioned politicians, traditional media, clearly identified with corruption, unify criteria to create fear in the population, with messages that are clearly without real support, appealing to ignorance.
Those sinister characters forget that, for so many years in which the right wing has governed, with the approval of CACIF, of the greedy oligarchy of this country, has only served to make Guatemala sink into misery, find itself in the last places of human development, violence, child malnutrition and in the first places of corruption in the world. For more misleading messages, for more lies and truculent actions, it is enough to have a bit of social empathy and historical memory to understand the unfortunate situation in which the country finds itself and to know who is responsible.
The corrupt are afraid and in the face of that fear they can only expect desperate and disastrous actions, so it is necessary to be vigilant and united to make a common front. And taking into account what Eric Hoffer said, you can find out what your enemy fears most by observing the means he uses to scare youthe corrupt are afraid and you have to seize the moment.
