The IT industry has been associated with stable employment and high earnings for many years, but there are also better and less prospering professions inside it. Experts from HRS-IT, a company specializing in the recruitment and employment of IT professionals, indicate which specializations are the most future-proof and how much can be earned in them.

– Although the best IT specialists can be sure of their place on the labor market, just like in the case of other industries, it is worth being vigilant. It is not enough to get the right qualifications once. Maintaining a high position requires tracking trends, continuous training and high flexibility in order to be able to quickly retrain if necessary. As a result, specialists will be more effective in securing a promising career in the future and will be able to negotiate higher salaries says Kinga Marczak, General Manager at HRS-IT.

Which specialists are exceptionally popular on the labor market?

1. Information security analyst

As the number of threats and companies’ awareness of the need to protect data increases, so does the need for cybersecurity specialists. Statistics by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) indicate that by 2030, the number of jobs for such specialists may increase by as much as a third. The primary responsibilities of information security analysts include monitoring complex computer networks, managing patches, firewalls, anti-virus programs and intrusion detection and prevention systems.

The rates for information security analysts are from 12 thousand PLN up to 40,000 PLN per month to B2B contractions.

2. Programmer

According to the BLS forecasts, the number of developer jobs could increase by more than a fifth by 2030. In addition to knowledge of many programming languages, such as C #, C ++, HTML, Java, .Net and SQL, employees of this specialization need high analytical and communication skills.

Developer rates are experience dependent and fluctuate from 5,000 for juniors up to 45 thousand PLN for experts in a month on a B2B contract.

3. Data analyst

Companies collect an increasing amount of internal and external data, and their analysis is necessary to make the right business decisions. BLS forecasts indicate that in 2026 it may even be by 28 percent more work places in this profession than at present. A data scientist is an interdisciplinary role. Such a specialist should demonstrate not only excellent knowledge of programming languages, mathematics and statistics, but also knowledge of the company’s goals and business problems.

4. Web Developer

Computerization of companies, including online contacts with customers, or the development of e-commerce, provide Web Developers with a stable position on the market. By 2030 the number of jobs in this profession may increase by 13%. (BLS data). In order to successfully develop their careers, such people need, among others skills in creating custom web applications, implementing applications in the cloud, and great communication and collaboration skills with clients and colleagues.

5. Analyst of computer systems

He analyzes computer systems, prepares an IT system implementation plan, cooperates with programmers, and then conducts a series of tests to check whether the system is working properly. A computer analyst has a lot of tasks to do, so his high earnings should come as no surprise. BLS prognosis indicates that the number of jobs for such specialists in the next four years may increase by 9%. Creative people with high communication, analytical and problem-solving skills will effectively develop their careers in this area.
