The search for who the future would be James Bond, started just a few months ago. And, while the final decision won’t be known until 2024, when filming begins, it has been leaked which actor has been targeted to play the mythical character. Probably not someone you imagine.
James Bond is a fictional character that corresponds to the novels of Ian Fleming. He is the protagonist of the series of novels, films, comics and video games of the same name, in which he develops as an undercover spy with a license to kill, belonging to the British secret service MI6.
Several actors have played the agent over the years, such as Sean Connery or Pierce Brosnan. The one currently occupying the role is Daniel Craig, who released his latest film last year, with a total of 5 films. Brand owners Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson said in an interview with Variety: “When we chose Bond we talked about a 10-12 year commitment. Not everyone wants to do that. It was quite difficult to get Craig to do it.”
In June last year, Barbara Broccoli interviewed Deadline and provided some details on which path James Bond will take in the future: “No one is contemplated. We’re thinking about where to go with the character, we’re talking about it. There’s no script and we can’t think of one until we decide how to approach the next film because it’s actually a re-telling of Bond. We are reinventing who he is and that takes time. I’d say we’re at least two years away from filming.”.

It appears that Johnson was having a conversation with Barbara Broccoli about the possibilities of being the next actor to play the agent. Close sources claim that things went quite well and that the actor meets the requirements set by the producers: “great actor, British, fits the younger direction the Broccolis want to take, accomplished but not particularly famous.”
For Johnson to definitively become the future James Bond, they will first have to evaluate the success of the actor’s next productions.: Kraven the Hunter and The Fall Guy. Although, for now, he’s the best candidate to play the agent, all eyes are on him.
