TRIESTE – The Air Dolomiti (part of the Lufthansa group) Trieste-Frankfurt flight returned to Trieste Airport a few minutes after departure, which happened at 3.20 pm, due to a warning light indicating that one of the engines ‘ overheating. As Ansa reports, the pilot, after remaining in flight over the skies of Lignano waiting for a possible independent solution to the problem, as a precaution, decided to ask for permission to land on emergency landing at Trieste Airport, which was quickly granted.

The plane, with 86 passengers on board, landed without problems and the emergency plan was immediately implemented at the airport. Firefighters were already present on the runway and thoroughly inspected the engines without finding smoke or other signs of failure. It is possible that the alarm was caused by a lack of indicator light.

Passengers on the flight will be able to depart for Frankfurt tomorrow morning, based on the availability of seats on the two scheduled flights from Trieste, one in the morning and one in the early afternoon.
