The shoes, which were donated by relatives, were placed next to the pedestrian street in the center of the capital. The installation is called “Memory Path”. After the anniversary commemorations, the shoes will be added to the collection of the Siege of Sarajevo memorial exhibition.

The prolonged blockade of Sarajevo lasted from April 5, 1992 to February 29, 1996. Initially, the forces of the Yugoslav People’s Army besieged the city, then the army of the Republika Srpska of Bosnia and Herzegovina took over the offensive operation.
