On February 15, PSG’s Champions League pre-quarter match is against Bayern Munich, one of the strongest clubs in the world.
A win in the first leg at PSG’s home ground, the Parc des Princes, will give PSG a huge advantage when they next play at Bayern’s home ground.
But former Liverpool star and football expert, Scottish footballer Steve Nicoll has come forward saying that PSG will fail in the match and that the club will not be able to win their maiden Champions League title this time.
In an interview with ESPN, Nicole opened up about her thoughts on the competition.
“If I were to bet on this match it would definitely be against PSG because it doesn’t help PSG to have big players injured in big games like the Champions League,” said Nicol.
“Normal Neymar is the one who gets injured. But now it’s Messi and Mbappe. How can a squad without Messi and Mbappe beat Bayern? I don’t have enough faith in all the players at PSG.
So I say that with all due respect. I don’t believe PSG can beat Bayern,’ added Steve Nicol.
Neymar and Messi are injured in the PSG line-up. But PSG coach Christophe Gaultier said that Messi will train in the match against Bayern and Messi may compete sometimes.
But Mbappe, who has been rested for three weeks, has yet to be confirmed whether he will play in the first leg of the Champions League.
Meanwhile, PSG’s next match is against Monaco on February 11. PSG, who are at the top of the league table, can increase their lead if they win the match.
