Texas: IT job losses continue. Dell, one of the leading IT companies, has cut the number of employees again. Bloomberg reported that Dell’s decision to pay more attention to artificial intelligence (AI). Dell is a leading manufacturer and service provider of computers and peripherals.

Dell did not say how many workers were laid off. In 2023, the company laid off more than 13,000 workers. Dell is aiming to reduce staff and focus more on AI. The company informed the employees about the dismissal of the employees through an internal letter. The new move will reportedly affect those in the sales and marketing department the most. Dell’s personal computer business has struggled in recent years. The company reckons that business can be elevated to a new level with the power of AI.

Dell has cut 13,000 jobs in 2023. The company has 120,000 employees worldwide as of February. There are widespread job losses in the IT-Tech sector. Three months after the birth of 2024, global giants such as IBM, Dell, Ericsson and Vodafone have laid off 50,000 workers, according to reports.
