The accident occurred around 13.30 today at Quassolo, just outside a tunnel. The cause of the driver’s loss of control of the car, a 54-year-old Milanese motorist, was attributed to bad weather.
The asphalt made slimy by the rain a crash in the previous hours probably caused the vehicle to lose grip suddenly, triggering the skid which then unfortunately ended up against the guardrail, damaging the car. Judging from the pictures posted by Torino Today, the magnitude of the impact must not have been minor. It is not known how fast the Porsche, a late model 911 Carrera Coupé, went, but the crash was severe enough to trigger both side airbags.
