We’ve waited a few times already, but we have to do it again. Xiaomi, on the other hand, has a phone that is the first to significantly reduce the price of something we have considered so far as an element belonging to more expensive models. Again, this is a 5G, for which Xiaomi recently won the title of the cheapest 5G smartphone in the form of the Redmi Note 9T model. Less than two months were enough and the title now belongs to a new representative from the Xiaomi portfolio. This is Redmi Note 10 5G.
The phone appeared next to the sibling of the Note 10 series, which we reported on in the article A whirlwind of cheaper phones from Xiaomi. They will serve us four by June. Of all four, however, it will arrive on the Czech market at the latest, as we will not see it until July. We do not even know its Czech price, only the international one, which is very low: 199 US dollars, ie about 4,300 crowns. In reality, a price of around 5 thousand crowns can be expected.
The main advantage, the ability to work with 5G networks, is provided by the processor from MediaTek, the weakest model from the new series of processors with a 5G modem, Dimensity 700. It even supports two active SIMs on new networks at the same time. There are also 4 GB of RAM and 64 or 128 GB of space for your data. It can be further expanded with a microSD card.
However, the phone is not only about supporting a new generation of mobile networks. It also has an interesting ace up its sleeve for the display, which at first glance is an ordinary 6.5-inch IPS panel with Full HD + resolution, but it also offers a 90Hz refresh rate. For a phone with a price of around 5 thousand, it’s a very nice bonus. We are also happy that instead of the cutout of the display, Xiaomi reached for a more modern shot.
The equipment also includes a fingerprint reader in the side button, USB-C connectors and a headphone jack, as well as NFC. In addition, the battery has a decent capacity of 5,000 mAh and a charge of 18 W.
Finally, it’s time for the camera, where the investigation from the manufacturer is quite familiar. The rear assembly offers basically only one “usable” sensor, the main one with 48Mpix resolution. It is complemented by only a pair of 2Mpix auxiliary cameras for recording better depth of field and also for taking macro shots. The front selfie camera then has a resolution of 8 Mpix.
The phone should be available in four color variants. It will be silver, gray, blue and green.
