/ world today news/ “In my opinion, it is possible to do without updating the budget, but the cleaner way is to update it, because this clears the way for the next government.” This is what Georgi Kadiev, a former MP from the Coalition for Bulgaria, said in the morning block of BTV “This Morning”.
“And last year we made an update of the previous budget, so this is not some unexpected measure,” he added.
“At customs, for example, they predicted, for example, 100 million in excise duty from Neftohim for April, but then it was closed, and here you are 100 million back in pledged revenues. They will of course be compensated to some extent in the coming months, but it is unlikely that the entire pledged will be collected revenues. The revenue lag at the moment compared to the pledged is about BGN 600 million, but it is important what the lag will be at the end of the year,” added the former deputy.
“2 billion more revenue in the budget compared to last year was a risky but ambitious move that is unfortunately not justified at the moment,” he added.
“If the state had stood behind KTB as it did with PIB, it would not have come to this closure and inspections that we are currently observing,” Kadiev believes when asked about the BNB’s audit of KTB, which is to be announced today.
Regarding the law on the activities of offshore companies, Georgi Kadiev commented that his proposal was intended for such companies that have interactions with municipalities and other state institutions to officially announce who their owner is in order to know with whom they do business.
“Yes, of course this measure is not a guarantee that there will be no offshore companies, but that is not the goal either. However, the proposal of Yordan Tsonev from the DPS for an addition to the bill makes the bill itself meaningless, because he proposed that if in the given company one owner has more -less than a 10 percent stake, he is not required to declare his name. In fact, 10 offshore companies can be made with a 9.9 percent stake in the larger company. The meaning of this will be circumvented the law is not to stop offshore companies from working in Bulgaria, because that would be illegal, and its meaning was for the owners of these companies to be announced publicly and to know who they are,” he was categorical.
“The reason for the failure of the BSP cannot be rooted in DPS or anyone else, but all of us in the party are to blame for the failure, and especially the leader Sergey Stanishev, because he bears the greatest responsibility. And our greatest it was a mistake to suggest that Delyan Peevski head DANS,” said Georgi Kadiev.
When asked about the BSP Congress, he said: “The candidates are different, everyone has their strengths and weaknesses. Looking at myself from the outside, I have one difference from the others – that I am open to the fringes. 50 people with sympathies for other parties will congratulate me now when I go out. If the BSP wants to open up, it will vote for such a guy.”
