The cause of the fire is still unknown. According to the Lebanese Red Cross, there is no risk of explosion. There are also no injuries for the time being. Residents do suffer from shortness of breath.
Many are in a panic, because the trauma of the explosion of just five weeks ago is still very much alive. “We are not being given a break,” human rights activist Aya Majzoub (Human Rights Watch) writes on Twitter. And, “If the explosion didn’t kill you, the noxious air and smoke will suffocate you.”
