On Sunday, the head of the Kharkiv regional administration, Aleksey Kucher, told how cadet Vyacheslav Zolochevsky managed to survive the fall of the An-26 near Chuguev.
According to Kucher, investigators from the State Bureau of Investigation have already questioned Zolochevsky, who was injured in the plane crash. The cadet told them on record that a piece of the fuselage saved him from the flames.
“He was in a certain capsule, so, in fact, the fire did not reach him,” Kucher said.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported that cadet Zolochevsky is on the mend. In a few days he will be discharged from the hospital.
An-26 military transport plane crashed on Friday evening in the Kharkov region. Onboard there were 27 people: seven crew members and 20 cadet pilots. According to official data, 26 people died, writes RIA Novosti.
