A criminal case over Rifat Dautov’s death was never initiated; the relatives received another refusal on June 24, 2024 from the senior investigator of the inter-district investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee for the Republic of Belarus Ekaterina Tikhonova. Now a family lawyer Pavel Wassiljew is preparing another petition in hopes of “getting the investigative machine running – and doing so in accordance with the law.”
