It became clear why Russia did not specify the number of its victims in Ukraine

The head of the Vladimir region Alexander Avdeev said that more than 20 residents of the region died on Ukrainian territory during military service.

He declined to give further information, noting that the names of all those killed would be announced later, after the end of the war, according to world media.

Alexander Avdeev said that the information about the fallen soldiers of the Russian armed forces is a very delicate topic and can be used by enemies, so all data are kept secret for now.

“This is a type of information that should not be distorted in an international political environment,” he said.

He believes that ill-wishers may misuse this information to speculate on people’s moods.

Avdeev said that the families of all the dead will receive compensation, their children will receive benefits, and the wounded will be given appropriate care. But he does not intend to disseminate all the information.

“Why should we give the data to those who use it for other purposes? To know the truth? We know the truth about what is happening in Donetsk, about the shelling of Luhansk. How has the world taken advantage of this truth?” he declares.

The governor notes that after the end of the war, the names of all those killed will be published and they will be honored.

Russia’s Defense Ministry has twice announced the number of dead during the war. The latest figures were announced on March 25, when 1,351 servicemen were killed and 3,825 wounded.
