Details Putin spoke at the 21st annual meeting of the Valdai Debating Club on November 7 and speak for the resettlement of Russian-American relations.
Putin said Trump’s presidential campaign had “desired to restore relations with Russia, to help end the Ukraine crisis,” and later noted that Russia open to “the possibility of restoring relations with the United States.”
Putin tried to blame the US for weakening Russian-American relations, noting that the United States imposed sanctions and restrictions on Russia and cut aid to Kyiv – not to mention that these measures were in response to Russia’s illegal and unprofessional full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Analysts note that Putin’s statement means that Russia will agree to the restoration of Russian-American relations only on the condition that the United States lifts sanctions and restrictions against Russia and does not they stopped supporting Ukraine – in fact, on terms that benefit Russia at the expense of US interests.
