The second exhibition of the 10th edition of the Istanbul Photo Awards will be held soon in New York. This international photography event, organized by Anadolu Group, will present the winning photos at Türkevi on October 15.
Serdar Karagoz, Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Anadolu, welcomes the dedication, together with many influential people from the diplomatic, academic, journalistic and photography circles.
The pictures on display focus on various recent world events. These include images of Israeli attacks in Palestine, earthquakes in Turkey described as the “catastrophe of the century”, as well as critical situations such as Afghan refugee camps and plastic pollution in Nigeria.
Sport will also be in the spotlight with special footage from the swimming world championships in Japan and the Wimbledon tennis tournament.
Beyond photography, the Anadolu documentary “Evidence”, which denounces war crimes in Gaza, will be shown after the opening of the exhibition. Photo enthusiasts can also visit the exhibition at the Blue Gallery in Manhattan from November 7th to 12th.
This year, the competition received more than 20,000 entries divided into categories such as current affairs, sports, environment, photography and everyday life. In total, 32 designers received awards. Supported by Turkcell, Sony, TIKA and Turkish Airlines, the competition continues to attract global attention.
