FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA — The emergence of the names Ridwan Kamil (RK) and Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) as new challengers in the 2024 presidential election contestation has caused various reactions from various parties.
Political observer Ujang Komarudin believes that the candidate pairing of RK and AHY will never happen.
“That’s just a street issue, I think a duet between RK and AHY will be difficult to happen,” said Ujang when contacted by dawn.co.id, Saturday (21/10/2023).
According to him, the current presidential candidate only has three strong people.
“The presidential candidates are for those who are strong, Prabowo, Ganjar and Anies. Apart from that, it will be difficult to run for president. This is just a lot of talk,” he continued.
As is known, previously two pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates had registered on the first day at the KPU. The two were Anies-Cak Imin and Ganjar-Mahfud respectively.
When registering, the two couples were fully escorted by their respective supporters. This made the entire Imam Bonjol road become congested due to the sea of people.
With the registration of Anies-Cak Imin and Ganjar-Mahfud, Prabowo Subianto is left who is still moving in place. In fact, the General Chair of the Gerindra Party has still not given any indication of determining the candidate for Vice President. (Pram/Dawn)
