PSI politician, Faldo Maldini answered the issue that was sticking out about the Ketum DPP Projo Budi Arie Setiadi will be chairman PSI after PSI billboards reading ‘PSI is Projo’ scattered across Jakarta. Faldo emphasized that PSI is a party that respects volunteers. What does it mean?
“With Pak Budi Arie, PSI is a party that respects volunteers,” said Faldo in the Adu Perspective event in collaboration between detikcom and Total Politik, Wednesday (16/8/2023).
Faldo asked the public to be patient and not assume things. Until now, said Faldo, the chairmanship of PSI is still held by Giring Ganesha.
“Ketum today is still Bang Giring, just relax, just wait,” he said firmly.
As is well known, the issue of the chairman of the DPP Projo Budi Arie Setiadi about becoming the chairman of the PSI emerged after a meeting between the Projo staff and Deputy Chairperson of the PSI Advisory Board Grace Natalie on Thursday (10/8) at the Projo Headquarters, South Jakarta. However, there was no visible PSI Ketum Giring Ganesha during the meeting.
During the meeting, Ketum Projo Budi Arie hoped that there would be one carriage leading to the 2024 elections. Recently, PSI billboards with the image of Budi Arie and the words ‘PSI is Projo’ have been scattered in Jakarta.
Budi Arie’s response
The Minister of Communication and Information of the Republic of Indonesia, Budi Arie Setiadi, responded to the issue that he was predicted to become the Chairman of PSI to replace Giring Ganesha. Budi emphasized that he would only focus on work as a minister.
“You see, I am focused on work, the President’s task as the Minister of Communication and Informatics is not light, but we are focused on work. Because PSI is a youth party, progressive, a party full of ideals, I’m not too young anymore,” said Budi at the Parliament Complex , Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday (16/8).
Budi said his relationship with PSI is close because they both support President Joko Widodo. He said he would just flow on the issue. In fact, he continued, the position of the Ketum PSI would be consulted first with President Jokowi if it was true.
“It’s close, I’m sure we both support Pak Jokowi,” said Budi Arie.
“The point is, we’re just going to wait for orders. I consulted with Mr. President, I’m Mr. Jokowi’s subordinate,” continued Budi, answering the question whether to deny or open the option of becoming PSI chairman.
