Israel’s permanent representative to the UN, Gilad Erdan, called on the organization’s Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to resign due to the escalating conflict in the Middle East. He wrote about this on his page on the social network X.
“The UN Secretary-General, who shows understanding for the campaign of mass murder of children, women and the elderly, must resign from his post, no less. I call on him to resign immediately,” Erdan wrote. He accused Guterres of justifying Hamas’ actions against Israel.
The war between Israel and Palestine began on October 7 after the massive bombing of the Palestinian group Hamas towards Israeli cities. Antonio Guterres, at a meeting of the Security Council, condemned the actions of Hamas, but also noted that they did not arise out of nowhere.
