Israel has proposed a framework for a deal with Hamas that would see all hostages released immediately and an end to fighting in the Gaza Strip, along with safe passage out of the enclave for the Hamas leader, Yahya Sinwar and his collaborators, public broadcaster Kan reports.
Release of Palestinian prisoners
Israel’s proposed plan provides for the release of Palestinian prisoners imprisoned in Israel, the demilitarization of the Strip and a new governance system for Gaza, the report said. No further details are given.
Safe Transit Agreement
According to the report, Mr Gal Hirschthe administration’s hostage official, told the families of the hostages that the proposal was presented last week in a meeting with US officials from the White House and the State Department.
Sources who have met with Hirsch say the proposal is called a “safe passage agreement.”
One more suggestion
It is not the first time a proposal has been touted that all hostages would be freed in one move in exchange for an end to the war, which was sparked by Hamas’s devastating October 7 attack.
