Israel’s Netanyahu Prepares Defensive and Offensive Measures Against Potential Iranian Attack

SERAMBINEWS.COM – Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Thursday that Israel was preparing both defensively and offensively for any Iranian attack on Israel.

Netanyahu made the remarks during a visit to Tel Nof Air Base in central Israel where he was with members of the 133rd Squadron, which operates F-15 fighter jets.

He received a briefing from the deputy base commander and squadron commander about their war efforts, and told the pilots, “We are in challenging days. We are in the middle of the war in Gaza, which continues in full force. Meanwhile, we remain working to achieve our goal of returning our captives but also preparing for scenarios involving challenges from other areas.”

Meanwhile, Saudi newspaper Al Hadath reported that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, an opposition war monitor, stated that “Damascus refuses to allow an Iranian response against Israel from Syrian territory.”

Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has repeated threats of attacks, in response Israel clarified a few days ago to the United States that “an attack from Iranian territory would force us to respond directly.”

This has led to tighter security coordination between the IDF and the US military, and late Thursday, US President Joe Biden stated that his country would do “whatever it takes to protect Israel’s security.”
