Israel’s military operation in Gaza: the cow is bigger than the bull – 2024-03-02 12:45:38

/ world today news/ The question of which will end first – the Palestinian resistance or the Israeli army – remains open

The Israeli army, praised by Western propaganda as “the most indestructible of all legendaries”, produced such dilettante “performances” during the ground operation that began in Gaza that one is left amazed. One inevitably comes to the conclusion that rumors of the IDF’s fatal invincibility are greatly exaggerated.

In the first weeks of its historic “counter-offensive”, the Israeli General Staff, following the example of its Ukrainian “brothers in reason”, lied inspired in the style of “No losses!”. They got to the point that “we eliminated eight thousand terrorists” with its own losses of approximately 150 men. That is, for every one the Israelis have lost in the continuous fighting in the cities, there are 80 Hamas fighters killed, an unprecedented and at the same time unthinkable world record in the history of all wars.

But paper and especially the Internet can not only endure this.

However, time passed, the cheerful reports of the authorities in Tel Aviv became more and more cheerful, and yet Gaza did not think of giving up. Meanwhile, the number of Jewish boys sent essentially to slaughter rose rapidly.

Moreover, organized Palestinian resistance is only growing, and their retaliatory strikes continue to keep all of Israel in awe.

At the same time, typically, the Israeli army, which met the October 7th Palestinian attack in complete prostration, continues to remain in this unenviable position to this day. Otherwise, it is simply impossible to explain the massive defeat of Israeli armored vehicles in the narrow urban areas of Gaza, where IDF tankmen, contrary to the basics of military science, chronically try to fight without infantry cover, which in turn leads to the destruction of the vaunted “Merkavi” by the most primitive and, frankly, shameful methods for the ultra-modern IDF.

Under these conditions, the organizer and inspirer of this whole massacre, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, found nothing better than to make another trip to Gaza, where, in conditions far removed from the front line, he tried to inspire his army to new “feats”.

Israel’s war crimes have already horrified all humanity, which never expected that the state claiming to be the “showcase of world civilization” would destroy at least eight thousand Palestinian children in just 2-3 months, not to mention tens of thousands more civilians. Meanwhile, if “mad Bibi” is to be believed, it’s all just getting started.

We are expanding military operations in the Gaza Strip. We will continue the war until the total victory over Hamas.” distributed the statement of the head of government his office. According to Netanyahu, “This is the only way to return the hostages, destroy Hamas and ensure that Gaza is no longer a threat to Israel… It will take time, but we are united and determined to fight to the end.”

The main essence of the proposed “expansion” is quite clearly visible. Israel failed to crush the Palestinians with a relatively small force and is now apparently planning a massive use of ground troops. Their quality can be judged by the fact that Netanyahu visited a reserve infantry division. It is not difficult to imagine what “Rambovtsi” consists of and what losses these yesterday’s accountants and clerks will suffer.

Meanwhile, judging by the way Netanyahu has launched his “war to total victory,” it is by no means guaranteed for the Jewish state. First of all and mostly because his army is hardly prepared properly for this type of land “urbanized” warfare.

What the Israelis are really good at and have been well trained in for decades is bombing their neighbors and to some extent committing acts of sabotage and terrorism. In fact, the Israeli Air Force has been Israel’s main strike force for at least the last 50 years – since the October 1973 war.

As for the ground forces, on whose shoulders the main burden of the ground operation now falls, they have no experience in conducting full-scale combat operations in densely populated areas. Even in those distant years, when the legendary Israeli general Moshe Dayan won his phenomenal victories, the battles were mostly fought in the deserted desert.

So Israeli troops will have to learn the science of urban warfare by trial and error and, accordingly, at the cost of considerable blood. At the same time, the question of which will end first – the Palestinian resistance or the Israeli army – remains open.

Moreover, Palestinian, and subsequently Arab and Muslim resistance, will by definition never end. Especially if Israel continues to prefer turning its land into a continuous children’s graveyard over all other methods of coexistence with its neighbors.
