Israel’s humanitarian aid measures in Gaza are not enough

The UN High Commissioner for the Middle East, Tor Venesland, spoke of “limited steps” taken by Israel to allow more humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, which are “positive, but far from sufficient in relation to with all that is necessary.”

“The delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip continues to face almost insurmountable challenges.

Israel’s limited measures, notably allowing more fuel, food and cooking gas to enter and opening Kerem Shalom/Karem Abu Salem to humanitarian aid are positive, but far from sufficient in relation to what is necessary to address the humanitarian disaster on the ground,” Venesland told the UN Security Council.
