Lebanon’s National News Agency reported late Sunday that Israeli warplanes launched a raid on the southern outskirts of the town of Aitaroun, and its echo was heard throughout the south.
Israel had begun evacuating about 60,000 Israelis from towns near the Lebanese border, in light of the tensions taking place in the region following the war between Israel and Hamas.
This border extends for a length of about 120 kilometers, starting from the town of Naqoura in the far west on the Mediterranean Sea, reaching the Kafr Shuba Heights and the Shebaa Farms in the east, and Mount Hermon, which forms the joint Lebanese-Syrian-Israeli border, and is currently defined by the blue dividing line drawn by the United Nations between Lebanon on the one hand and Israel. And the Golan Heights, on the other hand, on June 7, 2000.
