Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Military Israel already in the heart of the city Gaza since Wednesday (8/11) and was involved in close combat with the militia Hamas.
Meanwhile tens of thousands of Palestinians in the north of the Gaza Strip have also evacuated to the south, on foot and carrying white flags.
The following is a summary of today’s International Flash, Friday (10/11).
Close fighting was inevitable between Israel and the Hamas militia, after Israel admitted that it had entered the heart of Gaza City, which is Hamas’ main headquarters.
One of the exiled Hamas commanders, Saleh al-Arouri, said that Israeli troops might control several areas in Gaza.
“But that will not stop the resistance struggle against soldiers and tanks. The more (Israel) spreads and expands its territory, the greater the losses,” he said.
Tens of thousands of Palestinians from northern Gaza walked miles to the south, to flee Israeli aggression in their homes.
During the trip, several residents admitted that since their homes were destroyed, there were no more belongings left. They also said they had moved several times since the war broke out in early October.
“We walked past torn people, corpses. We walked next to tanks. The Israelis called us and they asked people to take off their clothes and throw away their belongings. The children were very tired because there was no water, ” said one Palestinian.
Gaza residents reject the Palestinian Authority (Palestinian Authority/PA) government led by Mahmoud Abbas if Hamas loses the next election. They do not trust Abbas to return to leadership, especially in the Gaza area.
A resident named Kamal said one of the reasons was because of the feud between the PA and Hamas.
“The PA will not protect Gaza because they have repeatedly participated in the siege and oppressed the people of Gaza. All because of disputes with Hamas. We do not believe that will be fair in Gaza,” said Kamal, reported by Al Jazeera, Thursday (9/11).
“The president always gives speeches about Gaza and his responsibility towards it. But, there is no action on what he says,” he continued.
