The team Israel shot dead five Palestinians in West Bank occupied. With this latest death toll, more than 110 Palestinians have been killed so far in escalating violence there since the start of the war Gaza.
Palestinian Ministry of Health, quoted by the news agency AFPMonday (30/10/2023), said five people aged 29 to 35 years were shot dead by Israeli troops on Sunday (29/10) local time, two of whom were shot dead in the Askar refugee camp in the city of Nablus.
Other incidents occurred in Beit Rima, northwest of Ramallah, Dheisheh refugee camp in Bethlehem and in Tamun north of Nablus.
The Palestinian ministry did not provide further details.
The Israeli military said that during the demolition of a militant’s house in Askar, “explosives were thrown at Israeli security forces and gunfire occurred.”
Israel often demolishes the homes of Palestinians accused of carrying out deadly attacks, arguing that this is a precautionary measure. Activists call this policy a collective punishment, because it can cause non-combatants to lose their homes.
During the roundup of militants in Jenin and surrounding areas, “the suspect threw an explosive device at the troops and gunfire broke out,” the military said Israel.
