Details: The head of Al-Nasr Hospital and Al-Rantisi Pediatric Hospital, Mustafa al-Kahlut, said that they are surrounded in the north of the Gaza Strip and asked the Red Cross to help with the evacuation: “We are completely surrounded, there are tanks near the hospital, and we cannot leave. We have no electricity, no oxygen for patients, we have no medicine and water. We don’t know our fate.”

The hospital complex is near the Sheikh Radwan area and Al-Shati camp, where the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Hamas have reported ground fighting.

Explosions occurred near several other hospitals in northern Gaza, including Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, the largest medical facility in the Gaza Strip.

A World Health Organization (WHO) spokesman said on Friday that al-Shifa was “being bombed”, adding that 20 hospitals in the Gaza Strip were “not functioning”.

Asked about a potential Israeli airstrike on Al Shifa hospital on Friday, WHO spokeswoman Margaret Harris said at a briefing: “I don’t have details about Al Shifa, but we know they are being bombed.”

On Friday evening, the Israeli military said that the strike on Al-Shifa hospital was caused by a misfired shell fired from the Gaza Strip.

The IDF said a review of its operating systems showed that “a projectile launched by terrorist organizations inside the Gaza Strip hit Al-Shifa Hospital.”

The projectile was aimed at “IDF troops operating nearby.”
