The Palestinian Ministry of Health and the administration of a Palestinian hospital announced that 3 Palestinians were killed by Israeli special forces gunfire inside Ibn Sina Hospital in the city of Jenin in the West Bank, while the army announced that its members killed “terrorists” from the Hamas movement.
The medical director of Ibn Sina Hospital, Naji Nazzal, told AFP that members of “the Musta’ribin force killed three Palestinians with a silencer in the rehabilitation department on the third floor of the hospital on Tuesday morning.”
According to Naji, one of the dead has been treated in the hospital since October and is unable to move.
Naji stated that the three dead were the two brothers, Bassem and Muhammad al-Ghazawi, in addition to Muhammad Jalamneh.
He said, “Basil was being treated in the rehabilitation department on the third floor. He suffers from hemiplegia, and his brother and the third martyr were his companions.”
Video of the moment the hospital was stormed
A video clip was published from one of the hospital cameras of a group of Israeli Special Forces members wearing Palestinian clothing, including some wearing the clothes of nurses and doctors, brandishing weapons inside the hospital.
In turn, the Israeli army said that its forces “neutralized Hamas terrorists who were hiding in the hospital.”
The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced in a statement, “This morning, three young men were martyred by the bullets of the occupation forces that stormed Ibn Sina Hospital in Jenin, and shot them inside its departments.”
In its statement, the Palestinian Ministry of Health called on the United Nations General Authority, international institutions and human rights organizations to urgently put an end to the series of daily crimes committed by the occupation against our people and health centers in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and to provide the necessary protection for treatment and ambulance centers and crews.
Israel has occupied the West Bank since 1967 and is inhabited by about 490,000 Israeli settlers in settlements considered illegal under international law.
The West Bank has witnessed an escalation in violence since the outbreak of war on October 7 between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.
