Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – A total of 2,000 Israeli soldiers have received psychological assistance since the outbreak of war on October 7. Of the total, around 200 soldiers received psychological assistance during the first three weeks of the ground offensive in the Gaza Strip on October 27.
“Between 75% to 80% of these 2,000 soldiers, who were classified as wounded in combat, have successfully returned to their units in the field,” the Israel Broadcasting Authority said in a statement, as quoted Anadolu Agency.
“As part of the psychological treatment prescribed by the army medical authorities, it is recommended to reintegrate psychologically affected soldiers into activities as soon as possible,” the broadcaster added.
Since October 7, the Israeli army has set up two mental health centers in the south of the country. Additionally, a hotline has been launched, providing access to psychologists and psychiatrists for support.
Earlier, the Israeli army reported that the death toll since October 7 had risen to 401 soldiers and officers.
The Israeli army again bombed the Gaza Strip on Friday morning last week after declaring the end of a week-long humanitarian pause.
The death toll from Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip has passed more than 16 thousand victims since the start of the conflict on October 7. Meanwhile, the official death toll in Israel reached 1,200 people.
