The Israeli Kan radio reported that approximately 3,000 soldiers have undergone medical examinations by mental health officers in the Israeli army since October 7, 2023.

The Israeli “Aran Association” (which is concerned with providing primary psychological assistance), had indicated in a report, in the first month of this year, that “since the beginning of the war, its assistance centers have received more than 100,000 requests from civilians and soldiers, and… 3,000 of them during the events of October 7.”

On January 1, Haaretz newspaper reported that sources in the mental health sector said that dozens of psychiatrists working in the public mental health system in Israel had recently left for Britain.

The newspaper pointed out that this displacement comes at a time when the demand for mental health services in “Israel” is increasing due to the war on the Gaza Strip, pointing out that “the heads of mental health centers throughout Israel last week sent a letter to the State Comptroller warning that the health system… “The mentality in Israel is on the verge of complete collapse.”
