A video circulating on social media shows what are said to be more than 100 Palestinian prisoners who have been detained on a football pitch in Gaza.
Many of them appear to have their hands tied behind their backs. Several have their eyes covered with scarves or pieces of cloth.
The video shows many of the prisoners lined up on the football pitch, surrounded by Israeli soldiers.
Most of the people shown in the video are men, both young and old. It also appears that there may be children among them.
All are undressed, and are only wearing underwear.
Women must also be detained. They seem to be wearing more clothes. They are also tied at the back with scarves.
Published on Christmas Eve
Israeli soldiers have apparently turned the stadium into a large detention center.
The video was published on YouTube on December 24. NRK has verified the film and geolocated it to the Yarmouk stadium in Gaza City, but it is unknown when it was filmed.
Yarmouk Stadium is located in Gaza City, north of the Strip.
The video shows the groups of prisoners walking to the middle of the football field. They stand in short queues of around four or five people each.
Israeli soldiers point their weapons at the people, the video shows.
There are also military vehicles and tanks present. Music has been added during the editing of the video.
Among other things, the football field has been used for football matches in the Palestinian Cup. This from the final in 2015.

IDF: Ensures they are not hiding explosives
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have not denied that the video is authentic, according to Sky News.
The IDF says that the detained people are being treated in line with International Law. NRK has not yet succeeded in getting in touch with the IDF about the case.
To Sky News, the IDF replies that it is working to “dissolve Hamas’s military capabilities”, and as part of the effort, suspected terrorists are arrested and interrogated.
So far in the war, 20,424 have been killed in Gaza, according to Palestinian health authorities.

– Individuals found not to participate in terrorist activities are released, the IDF claims, adding that it is necessary for terrorist suspects to hand over their clothing so that they can be searched to ensure that they are not concealing explosive vests or other weapons.
– Prisoners get their clothes back when possible, says the IDF.

Not the first time
NRK has previously written about Norwegian-Palestinian Nahla who recognized her own relatives in the pictures of Palestinian prisoners in the north of Gaza.
The images that spread then showed Palestinian prisoners stripped and tied at the back.
Actually Verifiable verified several of the images from the beginning of December. Even then, there were a total of over 100 men.
The images were geolocated to Beit Lahiya, which is located in the north of the Gaza Strip.
