Military Israel released a statement on the death of a girl Palestine in an attack in the West Bank city of Jenin. Israel claims its soldiers accidentally killed a Palestinian girl during the attack.

“The girl who died was hit by an accidental shot directed at the gunmen on a rooftop where shots were fired at the troops,” an Israeli military statement read, adding that no soldiers were injured.
The victim, 16-year-old Jana Zakarna, was on the roof of her house Sunday night when she was fired upon by an Israeli sniper stationed in an empty building, relatives of the victims told AFP.
“She went up (on the roof) to get her cat and never came back, so her brother went looking for her; he opened the door and found Jana lying here,” said Yasser Mahmoud Zakarna, 28, the victim’s uncle .
Israel occupied West Bank since the 1967 Six-Day War. Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz said on Monday that Israeli soldiers “accidentally shot people who weren’t involved.”
Hussein Al Sheikh, a senior Palestinian official, called on “regional and international bodies to urgently investigate the execution” of Zakarna.
