A Palestinian was killed by Israeli settler bullets, and 7 others were injured by occupation soldiers’ bullets during separate confrontations in Nablus and Bethlehem in the West Bank.
Earlier yesterday, Saturday, the Palestinian Authority Ministry of Health announced the death of a Palestinian by gunfire from an Israeli settler in the Nablus area, while one of the settler leaders said that the shooter was an off-duty soldier.
The ministry said in a statement that Bilal Abu Saleh (40 years old) “died from serious wounds sustained by a bullet in the chest fired at him by a colonialist in the town of Al-Sawiya” near Nablus.
The mayor of Al-Sawiya, Mahmoud Hassan, told Agence France-Presse that Bilal Abu Saleh was killed while he was picking olives with members of his family on their land located near the security fence surrounding the Israeli settlement of Rushalaym.
Six Palestinian youths were also injured by live bullets late on Saturday evening during confrontations that broke out with Israeli army forces that stormed the Askar camp, east of Nablus in the West Bank.
Security sources told the Palestinian News Agency (Wafa) that the six young men were injured by live bullets in the limbs after large forces from the occupation army, accompanied by two bulldozers, stormed Askar camp from several directions, and completely closed the area.
Al Jazeera’s correspondent said earlier that the occupation forces stormed the old Askar camp yesterday evening, Saturday, and the Masaken neighborhood in the eastern region of Nablus. She added that clashes took place between Palestinian resistance fighters and the occupation forces in the area, including the throwing of explosive devices.
A Palestinian was also injured yesterday by bullets from the occupation forces in confrontations that broke out after the storming of the Dheisheh camp, south of Bethlehem in the West Bank.
Wafa Agency quoted security sources yesterday, Saturday, as saying, “Special units of the occupation army (the Musta’ribun), protected by the occupation forces, stormed the camp, which led to the outbreak of confrontations that included firing bullets, gas bombs, and stun grenades at the young men, which led to one of them being injured by live bullets, after which he was transferred to the hospital.” Hospital to receive treatment.
The sources added that the occupation forces arrested a young man after raiding and searching his house in the camp.
