Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu Pursues Plan to Release Kidnapped Individuals and Crush Hamas in Rafah

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed on Saturday evening that he is working to obtain another plan that would release the kidnapped people and complete the destruction of the Hamas brigades in Rafah.

Netanyahu stated in a post on the “X” website (formerly Twitter): “That is why I sent a delegation to Paris, and tonight we will discuss the next steps in the negotiations.”

The Israeli Prime Minister also said in his post that “operational plans for Rafah will be discussed soon.”

He explained: “At the beginning of the week, I will hold a session of the mini-ministerial council in order to approve operational plans for carrying out a military operation in Rafah, which will include the evacuation of the civilian population from there.”

He added: “Only the combination of military pressure and firm negotiations will lead to the release of our kidnappers, the elimination of Hamas, and the achievement of all the goals of the war.”

Israeli War Council Resolution

  • The Israeli War Council gave the green light to send a delegation to Qatar to continue the discussions that took place in recent days in Paris with the aim of reaching a truce agreement in Gaza that includes the release of Israeli detainees held by resistance factions in Gaza, according to what officials and local media reported.
  • The Council met last night after the Israeli delegation returned from talks in Paris, to discuss the release of hostages and a ceasefire agreement in the Israeli war on Gaza.
  • Israeli media explained overnight that the delegation will head to Doha in the coming days to continue these negotiations with the aim of agreeing on a truce for several weeks that includes the release of detainees in Gaza in exchange for the release of Palestinian prisoners in Israel.

The “Israel 24” website reported that the parties to the discussions at the Paris summit had reached broad lines that would contribute to accelerating the conclusion of a truce agreement between the Palestinian and Israeli sides in the Gaza Strip.

On Sunday, the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip entered its 142nd day, as the bombing continues on various axes of the Strip in light of a catastrophic humanitarian situation, while negotiations continue on a new truce and the efforts of the international community to dissuade Israel from invading Rafah.
