Nov 21, 2023 at 9:11 PM Update: 39 minutes ago

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Tuesday evening that an unknown number of Israeli hostages would be released “in groups”. He also emphasizes that the fight against Hamas will continue even if a ceasefire is concluded with the group.

Netanyahu spoke about a difficult decision by the Israeli government, but called it the right decision. The Prime Minister also said that the hostages who are not released will receive a visit from the Red Cross.

Netanyahu spoke to members of his war cabinet and his government during scheduled meetings on Tuesday evening.

Hamas and Israel, which have been at war since October 7, appear to have agreed on the release of hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners.

According to sources, fifty hostages will be released in exchange for the release of Palestinian prisoners and a four-day ceasefire. If Hamas releases an additional ten hostages at a later stage, there would be a one-day ceasefire in return.

The Israeli newspaper Haaretz meldt that six hospitals have been prepared to receive the hostages.
