“He was feeling slightly dizzy, and on the advice of his personal physician, Dr Zvi Berkowitz, was taken to the Sheba emergency department,” said another statement.
“Initial examination showed normal findings, initial evaluation was dehydration,” the statement continued.
In video footage released hours later, Netanyahu said he spent time at the lake with his wife in the sun, hatless, no water. He later admitted that the idea was not a good one.
“Not a good idea,” said Netanyahu, noting that he now felt better.
“I feel very healthy,” he continued.
He also pleaded with Israelis to spend less time in the sun. He also advised residents to drink more water after the hot weather in the country.
Furthermore, his office said Netanyahu had stayed at the hospital overnight for observation on the recommendation of his doctor. The cabinet meeting which was supposed to be held on Sunday had to be postponed until Monday (18/7).
