The Israeli occupation army acknowledged the heavy toll of its losses during the past hours in the fierce battles with the Palestinian resistance and the ambushes it set up for its soldiers in several locations in the Gaza Strip.
The occupation army said on Saturday evening that five officers and soldiers were killed in battles in the south and north of the Gaza Strip, bringing the death toll to 477 since the start of the war on Gaza on October 7.
Before that, the Israeli army announced that 44 soldiers had been injured in the Gaza Strip battles in the last 24 hours, 10 of them seriously.
He pointed out that 189 officers and soldiers were seriously injured in ground operations in the Gaza Strip, 310 were moderately injured, and 327 were slightly injured.

Earlier, the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), announced that it had killed a large number of Israeli soldiers today, Saturday, in ambushes it set up for the occupation forces in the Gaza Strip.
The Al-Qassam Brigades said that they killed all members of 4 Israeli military jeeps in a tight ambush in Juhr al-Dik in the middle of the Gaza Strip after detonating a field of anti-personnel and anti-armour devices in the Israeli force.
It added that its fighters destroyed an Israeli tank that rushed to the site with an “Al-Yassin 105” shell, and targeted rescue and evacuation forces in the area of the operation, noting that occupation planes and ambulances were seen transporting the dead from the site.
To the east of Juhr al-Dik, near the border fence, Al-Qassam members targeted an Israeli foot force with an explosive device and machine guns, killing and wounding its members.
Before that, the Al-Qassam Brigades announced that it had blown up a tunnel in an Israeli special force in Juhr al-Dik, killing and wounding its members, noting that its fighters were waging fierce battles from zero distance with the occupation forces in the same area.
In the northern Gaza Strip, specifically in Jabalia al-Balad, the Al-Qassam Brigades confirmed that they killed and wounded a large number of occupation soldiers, stressing that clashes in this axis are continuing.
It also said that its fighters destroyed 5 Israeli tanks in Jabalia using two Israeli missiles that did not explode, confirming that one of the fighters killed 4 soldiers from zero range in the Al-Qasasib neighborhood in the Jabalia camp.
The Al-Qassam Brigades said that its members have been waging armed clashes since yesterday, Friday, with the occupation forces penetrating the Jabalia al-Balad area, north of the Gaza Strip.
For his part, Al Jazeera’s correspondent confirmed the continuation of clashes between the resistance and the occupation forces in Jabalia.
In the southern Gaza Strip, the Al-Qassam Brigades confirmed that they lured 5 Israeli soldiers from the “Yahloum” unit to the tunnel east of Khan Yunis and blew it up after they entered it, confirming that they were eliminated from scratch.
Al-Qassam fighters also destroyed an Israeli troop carrier with an Al-Yassin 105 shell north of the city of Khan Yunis. This led to it catching fire, according to a statement from the military wing of the Hamas movement.
The Al-Qassam Brigades also said that its members targeted two Israeli soldiers with an RPG shell in Khan Yunis, killing them instantly and turning them into pieces.
In other fighting areas in Gaza City, the Al-Qassam Brigades confirmed that two occupation vehicles were targeted with two Al-Yassin 105 shells, and an Israeli soldier was killed from zero distance in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood.
For its part, the Al-Quds Brigades announced that they bombed occupation vehicles that penetrated east of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip, with a barrage of mortar shells, causing certain casualties.
This comes as Israeli media reported that Israeli tanks began a ground operation from Kerem Shalom to the Philadelphia axis on the Gaza Strip border with Egypt.
