The Israeli Ministry of Economy said on Friday that dozens of imported products will be exempt from inspection and other approvals, to facilitate their entry into Israel and contribute to preventing shortages in light of the escalation with Gaza.

The Ministry stated that importers will be exempted from obtaining a certificate of compliance with the standard conditions to which they are routinely required, which usually allows shipments to be released from customs control.

She added that the exemption from official accreditation does not exempt the importer from complying with the standard requirements, but only exempts him from the obligation to obtain the usual approval upon importing.

The list of imported goods included in the exemption includes those whose release represents a top priority.

It includes clothing, civil protection equipment, emergency drinking water, storage containers, rechargeable and spare batteries, optical products, and more.

The ministry said it may add more goods if necessary.
