Israeli Minister Bezalel Smotrich Calls for Encouraging Voluntary Migration of Palestinians in Gaza Strip, Causing International Outcry

Bezalel Smotrich, Israel’s right-wing Finance Minister, on Sunday (31/12/12) called for encouraging voluntary migration of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

“We need to encourage immigration from there. “If there were only 100,000-200,000 Arabs in the Gaza Strip and not two million, the whole conversation about the day after the war would be very different,” Smotrich told Israel’s Army Radio. BetweenMonday (1/1/2024).

“They want to leave. They have lived in ghetto for 75 years and needs help,” added the leader of the right-wing religious Zionist party.

According to health authorities in the Palestinian territories, Israel has been pounding the Gaza Strip from the air and land since the Hamas attack on October 7.

This caused at least 21,882 Palestinians to die, most of whom were women and children, and injured 56,451 others. On the other hand, nearly 1,200 Israelis died in Hamas attacks.

Israel’s onslaught has caused devastation in Gaza, with 60 percent of the enclave’s infrastructure damaged or destroyed, and nearly two million residents displaced amid shortages of food, clean water and medicine. (ant/feb/ham)
