The Israeli military advanced deep into the region from the north, completely encircling Gaza City and opening access to the sea. This was reported by the official representative of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Daniel Hagari.
“Today, IDF forces surrounded Gaza (the largest city in the Gaza Strip – approx. URA.RU) and took positions along the coast. In fact, today there is a northern part of the Gaza Strip and a southern part. We are still allowing the humanitarian corridor to operate so that residents of the north can move and evacuate to the south. This is movement in one direction. We will continue to attack the northern part of the Strip and Gaza City,” stated Daniel Hagary.
Israel concentrated military resources on the border with the Gaza Strip and on October 28 began the second stage of the war with Hamas. The region was surrounded on November 2. The next day, IDF fighters entered the enclave.
