A film shows the rubble of Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip. Since the start of Israeli military operations on October 7, the toll has increased to 20,258 dead and 53,688 injured.
This figure, however, cannot be independently confirmed and does not distinguish between civilians and combatants. Hamas’ toll also includes those killed by rockets launched by militants that fell on the territory of the Gaza Strip. Israel, for its part, claims to have killed more than 8.000 Hamas members in Gaza.
