The military operation in Jenin and its camp has entered its third day in a row, and it is the longest and largest Israeli operation since the second intifada in 2002, according to a Al-Hurra channel correspondent.
The Israeli forces bombed a number of homes with shoulder-fired missiles, and also targeted a group of young men with a drone, amid major infrastructure destruction, house searches, and continued arrests, according to the correspondent.
Armed clashes, bombings, and confrontations continued, amid a strengthening of the army’s presence in the camp, its surroundings, and the city.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that the death toll during the operation had risen to 11, in addition to a number of wounded, while the Israeli army did not comment on this.
The Israeli army carries out repeated raids on the city of Jenin and its camp, in order to pursue wanted persons whom it accuses of planning to carry out attacks against Israeli targets.
Jenin refugee camp is a stronghold for Palestinian militants, and was the focus of a major Israeli military operation in July of this year.
The West Bank has witnessed an escalation in tensions since the outbreak of war between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip on October 7.
Israeli forces stormed other areas in the West Bank, raided towns in Nablus, Hebron, the outskirts of Qalandia camp, the towns of Kafr Aqab, and Jericho, and arrested a number of Palestinians.
The Israeli army says that its military activities in the West Bank are aimed at “pursuing those wanted on terrorist charges.”
