He said that the army also confiscated thousands of weapons and millions of documents, adding, “We are now focusing on dismantling Hamas in the central and southern Gaza Strip.”
He said intelligence gathering, such as the method the Israeli military used to download millions of files from computers in Gaza, is just one of several goals the Israeli military is using to dismantle Hamas.
The Israeli military spokesman pointed out that “the killing of Hamas leaders made it difficult for the terrorists to fight,” adding that “the second goal is to fight the terrorists themselves with ground forces and air support.”
Hagari said that the Israeli army learned lessons from the tragedy in which three hostages were killed by fire from its forces. He added, “There are still terrorists in Jabalia, but they are fighting without leaders. There are no shortcuts in the war against terrorism.” He added that a process similar to that carried out in Jabalia is now taking place in eight other regions.
