Israeli military drone crashes in Lebanon

An Israeli military reconnaissance drone crashed in Lebanon, the IDF said overnight from Saturday to Sunday.

An army spokesperson said in a statement that the incident occurred “during an IDF operational activity” along the Blue Line, a border demarcation drawn by the United Nations in 2000 after the forces Israelis withdrew their forces from southern Lebanon. “There is no risk of loss of information,” said the spokesperson, without saying more about the cause of the accident.

Hezbollah said its fighters intercepted the drone near the village of Aïta ach-Chab in southern Lebanon. In July, another military drone crashed in Lebanon. Israeli media had reported that the drone had apparently crashed due to a malfunction.
