Israeli forces kill four Palestinians; Clashes continue in and around Nablus Four Palestinians killed by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank

West Bank: Four Palestinians were killed and 19 wounded in an attack by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank. Palestinian officials also reported that several Israeli soldiers had entered the city of Nablus. Al Jazeera reported that fighting continues in and around the ancient city of Nablus in the northern part of the occupied West Bank. The area has been under siege by the Israeli army for more than two weeks.

A Palestinian spokesperson for Fatah said the shooting followed the arrival of more Israeli troops earlier Tuesday. “Three people were killed and 19 injured in Nablus by Israeli fire. Three of them are in critical condition,” the Palestinian health ministry said in a statement. Palestinian health and safety officials said one of the dead was unarmed. Later, Israeli forces killed another Palestinian in Ramallah, the Palestinian Authority headquarters in the central West Bank, the ministry said.

However, Israel has not released any further information confirming the arrival of its forces in Nablus. President Mahmoud Abbas has called for an end to the attacks on the Palestinian people, his spokesman Nabil Abu Rudine said in a statement. Abu Rudine told “Palestinian TV” that Israeli aggression will have dangerous and disastrous consequences.
