Israel’s armed forces in the war against the Palestinian terrorist group “Hamas” on Tuesday expanded the ground offensive, including the refugee camps in the central part of the Gaza Strip.
The UN human rights office reported that the continuous bombardment of the central Gaza Strip since Christmas Eve has claimed the lives of more than 100 Palestinians. The office said Israel had ordered some residents to move.
Residents of the central Gaza Strip reported shelling and airstrikes in Nusayrat, Maghazi and Bureiya refugee camps.
The Israeli army ordered part of the population to evacuate and go to nearby Deirelbeleh. The UN humanitarian office said the area, which was forced out by the army, was home to nearly 90,000 people before the war, but now hosts more than 61,000 displaced people, mostly from the north.
Later, the army announced that it was operating in Burei, where it discovered a training camp of the Palestinian group “Hamas”.
The Palestinian telecommunications company “Paltel” reported that communications and internet services were once again disrupted in the Gaza Strip.
